July 2022 walk

This month’s walk on Sunday the 17th of July will start at an earlier time of 11.30 and will be a butterfly walk in the Wyre forest and will be lead by group committee member Tony Simpson. We will meet at Hawkbatch Car Park off the Bewdley to Cleobury road (B4194) at SO761775.
Walk down through Withybed Wood to Dowles Brook, then to Cooper’s Mill and across footbridge and around through forest to Lodge Hill Meadows. Then down to Knowles Mill and across brook again and back up on parallel path to car park. Distance around 3.5 Km; some muddy spots and slopes but on paths all the way.
Hope to see Silver-washed Fritillaries and possibly White Admiral as well as usual common July species if the sun continues to shine! Also interesting flora and ancient woodland, with Dippers etc. on brook.
Note : attendees are expected to come with suitable footwear and attire for the weather and local conditions
